Day 13: Urmitz nr. Koblenz (Germany) to Burgen (Germany)

Packed up GerTee and left Urmitz in a grey mizzle to start our Mosel part of the adventure. We stopped at the largest supermarket either of us have ever seen. Some German chain called Globus. So many choices for every product we really had to be strict and stick (mostly) to our shopping list.

After prising himself from the beer aisles, we paid and left treating GerTee to half a tank of diesel at €1.08 per litre, less than a pound!

A short drive followed to Burgen (50°12’33.71″N 7°23’30.79″E) where we pitched up alongside some very amiable Germans who it turned out were getting together for a birthday.

We drove past panoramic views of the vineyard terraces and chocolate box views of German villages and Schloss’s.

The rest of the day was spent cycling along the cycle path alongside the Mosel gawping at the stunning scenery (and consuming the odd beer).
