Day 48: Ouistreham to Home

AArrse!, woken by our alarm having not used it at all for the whole trip. Had a fitful night’s sleep due to a) kids mucking around at 2am and b) don’t wanna come home!

Usual 5 minute drive to the ferry which is full to bursting. We get parked down in the bowels of the ship (Deck B3, it isn’t a cruise ship) with the big lorries.

6 hour crossing, killed a bit of time with breakfast in the restaurant, scrabble and a trip around the (not) Duty Free.

Off the ship at 13:30, there’s a plus to be down on the lorry deck, first out, first through passport control and we hit the M27 at 13:40 and back at Schreiber towers at 14:00. Kettle on and a nice cuppa, like to say it’s great to be home but the words are sticking in our throats a little.
